Let's have an adventure!
Thanks for stopping in! I’m Nate, a central Indiana wedding and portrait photographer. I live in West Lafayette in a sweet 1960s built home just a few minutes away from Purdue University and only a short skip over to the nearest Aldi grocery store (#blessed). I live with my wife, Felicia, a wedding planner and serial badass who helps run a local historical venue in Lafayette. We also have a little rescue dog named Princess, our yorkie shih-tzu mix diva. Felicia and I love to take long drives out into the country and pretend we have enough funds to build a dream home somewhere in rural Tippecanoe county and to sip on Nespressos throughout the day. Since we both work partially from home, it makes for lots of good conversations and lunch dates with my bestie while we binge on Bob’s Burgers, Game of Thrones, and most recently, Letterkenny (the best Canadian tv show we’ve ever seen). When it’s decent weather, we putt around the countryside on my 2005 Harley Ultra Classic motorcycle. I’m also training to head to Iceland in 2020 to carry around the Husafell Stone, a 400 pound stone that some of the world’s strongest men (and women!) have lifted.
I’ve been a wedding and portrait photographer for 3 years now but have been photographing things since I was little on 35mm film. Nowadays, I shoot on Canon DSLR cameras and have an arsenal of lights, lenses, and just the whole bundle to capture pretty much anything. On wedding days you can find me lending a helping hand to make sure things get set up correctly and then working all different sides of the room while you enjoy your best day.
Wedding days and those leading up to it are exciting! I’ve been married for nearly 5 years now and I know exactly how you feel -- the nerves, the excitement, the love and the stress. I feel it! What I love so much about photographing weddings and portraits is the assistance I get to be to you. Whether you’ve been through it before or it’s a new adventure, all of the prep that goes into a wedding can be overwhelming. That is why when I sit down with my clients to discuss the vision of their day, I listen first. I want to hear your story and celebrate you. I also want to provide the best quality of work and guidance as possible. That means customized timelines to fit your vision, suggested approaches to receptions, and of course dreamy portrait sessions on your engagement and wedding days. As someone who has a primary love language of acts of service, bringing about joy, happiness, and all the help makes me feel so happy!
Aside from my blog and Instagram, you can also see my work featured on How They Asked, Aisle Memories, Trends Wedding and Lifestyle Magazine, and also WeddingDay Magazine. Your special moments should be carefully curated and presented in way that when you look back in 50 years, you’ll still feel that love that you felt on your special day.
Do you love to travel with the windows down and the music blasting? Are you passionate that Arya is going to take the Iron Throne or perhaps Sansa will defeat the white walkers? Do you want detailed and helpful approaches to your wedding day to minimize stress and make your fiance (who perhaps hates having his picture taken) look his absolute best? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then we should talk! If you answered yes to all of these questions then we should meet and go on a double date since we’re going to be besties!
Send me an e-mail--let’s chat a little more and I’ll buy you both a coffee (or perhaps a local beer) and let’s start planning for your new adventure!
