Erin & Kyle - A Fowler House Mansion Wedding

On a warm and rainy September Saturday, two souls pledged their lives to one another and facing hardship or happiness, they promised that until death would they not part. If this feels slightly like the prologue to some fairy tale or fantasy novel, you wouldn’t be too far off. Set in north central Indiana, in a building that dates back almost 200 years, Erin and Kyle were married and began their happily ever after.

Erin and Kyle’s wedding was a quintessential example of what fairy tale weddings look like. Sweet eucalyptus and elegant roses filled the house with not only their beautiful lushness but with a rich and sweet smell. There was laughter, impromptu dance parties, and so many mimosas! While Erin was with her bridesmaids, most of whom have travelled from out of state, the handsome prince--I mean groom, was enjoying some peace and honey bourbon with his dapperly bearded groomsmen. While Erin and her girl’s brought out the energy and excitement of the day, Kyle and his crew were subdued and enjoying the little downtime that one finds before a wedding day commences.

Due to the rain, our only villain of the day, Erin and Kyle’s wedding took place indoors just off the terrace. With so much natural light and the most amazing to date arbor that made a complete circle and was decorated with fresh roses and more eucalyptus, I have never seen such a lovely place to wed. While everything that would have been outdoors was brought inside, everyone was able to cozy up during the ceremony and enjoy seeing their favorite couple wed one another.

Erin and Kyle are gorgeous together and you can see that in all of the images. What I later learned from her mother was that Erin has done some modeling in the past which is why our pre-wedding shoot turned into a bit more Vogue-esque than my usual weddings. But, honestly, if you’ve seen my work, you know that whatever type of shot we need to get your day to make it the best, we will. I just happen to love very glam/fashion/editorial style imagery. Erin was game and so was the rest of the crew.

Sound Swarm Entertainment, using some of the best music mixes I’ve come across in the industry, did an excellent job of not only helping to usher in the couple and their guests with warmness and some killer dance tunes, but also ensured that a little bit of everything was played and enjoyed at the request of the couple.

I believe that there are many differentiating and memorable parts of a wedding, at least from a photographer’s standpoint. One thing that I loved seeing was that Erin and Kyle had practiced dancing their first dance. They worked on it a lot, it seemed, because it was effortless and so well coordinated. Later on, I witnessed the two reception-pros spending time together on the dance floor, and apart to entertain their guests, they fully succeeded at their wedding day. Their final send-off was a bubble exit...at night. This is not something that I think a lot of photographers have done due to fact that bubbles are hard to see in the dark. Thankfully, everything went beautifully with the flashes I had set up outdoors and it turned into one of my very favorite exit images from any wedding.

So, without spending any more time gushing over their happily ever after, you can see it here.
