This love story is a testament that proves love transcends time, distance, culture, and language. It proves that even though this world is such a big place, everything that occurs happens for a reason. Jianing and Diana are from different parts of the world. In fact, if you look at a globe and touched almost completely opposite sides, that is how far they were once from one another. Now, they are bound together in marriage and love, through good times and even better times, through Masters Programs and Doctorates too. These two prove that love knows no bounds.
They met in graduate school in Florida studying together. After they completed their work there, it was on to the next set of courses. Diana is currently studying for her PhD at Purdue while Jianing is in Iowa.
Their small ceremony consisted of 6 people including the Judge who married them and me. It was beautiful and wonderful to see two people so deeply in love. Their friends and family will join them next July for a more traditional ceremony and reception at Purdue Memorial Union which I am excited to take part in as well.
